Kelly Fisher Wins![June 7th, 2010]

This past weekend saw the kickoff to the 2010 KWIKFIRE Tour with a stop at 150 'N Out Billiards and Darts in Mooresville, NC.

As usual, the field consisted of several top lady pro players and many local APA talent who were fighting for more than $3,000 in prize fund.

There were no major upsets on Saturday, and on Sunday the crowd was treated to a NOON matchup between Kelly Fisher and Allison Fisher. Allison advanced and then made it to the hot-seat by beating newcomer Amy Chen, who had a fantastic 3rd place finish and in the process beat Gerda Hofstatter, who came into the event after winning the first WPBA tournament of the year in San Diego.

Amy was eventually beaten by Kelly Fisher, who had earlier survived a grueling 9-8 match against Gerda Hofstatter.

The final match was a repeat of the first match between the two Fishers' and with Allison taking a 5-2 lead it looked to the same outcome. Kelly had other plans and fought her way back to win the title and match 9-8.

Christi Steele received the newly implemented monetary award for being the highest APA finisher with a resepctable 7th/8th place finish, and Holly Sholes drew the ticket for the first break and run contest. In the second chance tournament on Sunday, Dana Aft and Betty Sessions were both named winners due to time restraints.

The KWIKFIRE Tour would like to thank Bob and Janice Toth, owners of 150 'N Out, and all their staff, for hosting the event and making it such a success. We look forward to future events at this deluxe poolrrom. On a special note, we would like to congratulate Janice for her solid performances in the tournament as well, after drawing many strong opponents.

We would also like to thank Blue Moon Custom Awards for sponsoring the APA trophies, and also Marty for his generous $500 donation. A thanks to KWIKFIRE Cues for being our title sponsor and donating $2,000 worth of cues per event. You can view all KWIKFIRE cues at www.kwikfireinc.com.
